What is the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA)
The Experimental Aircraft Association is an international organization for aviation enthusiasts. Founded in 1953, it supports home-built, recreational, vintage, and aerobatic aviation. The EAA works to promote aircraft building and restoration, youth programs, and education through over 1,000 chapters worldwide. One of the main goals of the EAA is to grow the “Spirit of Aviation”
Who we are
EAA Chapter 283 is a community of aviators, builders, and enthusiasts who share a passion for flight and hands‑on craftsmanship. Our chapter leadership— pictured here—represents the volunteers who keep our mission moving forward. They organize events, support local aviators, and help create a welcoming environment for anyone who loves aviation. Together, we work to inspire learning, celebrate aviation’s spirit, and strengthen the bond between pilots and our community.

Young Eagles Events
Our Young Eagles events give kids the chance to experience the magic of flight firsthand. Volunteer pilots from EAA Chapter 283 offer free introductory flights (for children ages 8-17), answer questions, and share what makes aviation so exciting. It’s a relaxed, family‑friendly day designed to inspire curiosity and open the door to a world of possibilities in aviation in order to build confidence and encourage the next generation of aviators.
